A useful product starts with a useful purpose.
We do not expect every item to suit every pet. We do expect it to be understandable, appropriately described and genuinely relevant to the care routine in which it appears.

Use, care, warnings, sizing and material or ingredient information should be available and understandable before purchase.

We look for enough detail about ingredients, materials and construction to help a pet parent judge suitability.

A product should fit real routines and consider the comfort of the pet and the person using it.

We avoid items whose marketing depends on cure, diagnosis, guaranteed results or claims that cannot be responsibly supported.

Trendiness is not a standard. We consider usefulness, durability, clarity and the value an item adds over time.
Our decision path
How a product earns a place.
The level of review should match the level of risk and the strength of the claim. A simple grooming tool and a health-related product should not be treated as the same decision.

We define the routine, problem or decision the product is meant to support before looking at the product’s marketing.
02 Review the available information
We consider the label, instructions, warnings, materials or ingredients, sizing, care requirements and the manufacturer’s stated use.
03 Check the claims
We separate practical product information from health or performance claims and look for support that matches the strength of the promise.
04 Assess everyday fit
We ask who the item may suit, where it fits in the routine, what could make it unsuitable and what a pet parent should know before using it.
05 Keep paying attention
Inclusion is not permanent. New safety information, recalls, quality concerns, changed claims or consistent reader feedback can trigger an update or removal.
